‘DAVID & GOLIATH’

We have been fighting a David and Goliath battle against public funded organisations with endless pockets. Yet still we remain upbeat about the progress we are making. We are delighted that our case has finally been acknowledged by the court and the relatively low amounts we have been requested to pay into court, compared with the hugely excessive sums requested by EP& TVR is testament to the efforts being made to bring our case to light.

Although the costs are relatively low we are still looking for support in order to make EP and TVR accountable for their actions. We have until the 13th June 2007 in order to pay into court the funds necessary to take what could turn out to be a landmark case, all the way to a full hearing.

EP/TVR’s cost the public purse £33,000 for the hearing on Friday 13th April 2007 with a 5 strong legal team! Further to this hundreds of thousands of pounds will be expended by EP / TVR of Tax Payers money for what? Essentially to put Chilli Developments into liquidation, we are local people with local interests, we are overwhelmed at the personal support we are receiving and call on others to be more proactive in supporting this case going forward; The majority of the key figures who are currently influencing the future of Middlesbrough and the wider Tees Valley have no vested interest in the area but see it as a stepping stone in their own careers and there is a danger of further outcry down the line such as with the TVDC in the past. It’s about time the government organisations and Quango’s were held to account for their actions”

This could affect all developers within the UK who currently use Lock Out Agreements so we are looking for anyone who might be able to support Chilli in this case! Any help or support is greatly appreciated!
